Foleshill Women's Training

Event:         new UKOnline contract for community organisations

Details:       Good news from FWT (Foleshill Women's Training), and hopes this is something partners may wish to collaborate on.

They recently submitted a bid to become a 'Champion Lead' centre for UKOnline, and have been successful. The contract is to deliver free beginners IT courses to centres across the City for one year from 1st April 2010. We're particularly focusing on 'women only' provision in deprived areas, and there is no restriction on who can access the courses.

All courses are delivered online, and sessions will be supported by a member of FWT staff, volunteers, and the project will be supported in communities by 'Community Learning Champions'.
They can offer the courses at centres will existing IT provision, or for smaller community venues, where there is an identified need, we can offer provision with our own laptops.

Contact:         If any partners would like to find out more, and are keen to have the free IT offered in their centres/community venues (no matter how small!), please contact Christine McNaught directly to arrange a meeting.
