Description and Objectives
The project will:
  • Provide a team to manage the activities of WATCH, the Hillfields community development organisation
  • Provide a team of community development workers for capacity –building activity with and for Hillfields community groups who do not wish to, or are not able to bid on their own behalf, thus ensuring that the benefits of URBAN funding are made more widely available within the area.
  • Provide resources for encouraging community involvement in local community groups, and in the regeneration of Hillfields, which will contribute to the long-tern benefit to Hillfields of URBAN funding.

The project contributes significantly to two of the Objectives of Measure 3 within the Hillfields URBAN Action Plan:

  • Develop the knowledge and acumen of local organisations in all aspects of community development activity
  • Equip voluntary and community group to contribute to regeneration.
