Description and Objectives
An extensive programme of marketing activity designed to promote a more positive image of Hillfields and its community and meet all of the aims of Action 3c of the Hillfields URBAN Action Plan. The project compromises:
  • A programme of events to promote the area, local services and the local community.
  • A Cultural Grant Scheme to support the development of local projects that help improve the image and marketing of the area.
  • A programme of events, activities, features and arts to celebrate the Millennium Year.
  • Preparation and publication of a directory of organisations, services, facilities and businesses in Hillfields.
  • Publication of a monthly Partnership Update to keep local organisations informed of what is happening in Hillfields and in particular progress with URBAN.
  • Design and production of a welcome pack for new householders, including information about local services.
  • Design and development of a guide for young people on provision and facilities in Hillfields.
  • A programme of training sessions for local community groups on how to promote themselves and their activities through the media.

The project contributes to the implementation of the Hillfields Area Plan 1999 –2001 and to the SPD objective of moving market confidence northwards.
