| Description and Objectives |
| This project is concerned with the
development of active citizenship. It seeks to work with young people,
their families and local schools and is supported by a range of public
sector organisations.
The project seeks to:
The project will work with young people and their families to identify local area problems, consider solutions and develop Action Plans. There will be some scope within the project to fund Action Plans. The young people and their families will be supported in making applications for additional funding where appropriate. The project itself will have 4 main components:
The project specifically seeks to meet the requirements laid down in the following sections of the Hillfields Action Plan ERDF Measure 2:
The making roads safer places and community scan components of the project will directly impact upon this designated priority area. The project specifically aims to deliver 6 separate initiatives (see 5a Outputs)
The Crime and Social Behaviour Citizenship Project and Community Scan both seek to involve the community in decisions relating to improving security in local parks. 4 separate initiatives are planned.
The Crime and Social Behaviour Citizenship Project, Community Scan and the Emergency Services Literacy project all seek to reduce crime and anti social behaviour and promote active responsible citizenship. This work will be based upon a partnership between young people, their families, the Emergency Services, Agenda 21, the Youth Justice Team and the Education Service. Direct involvement with Area Co-ordination will be essential. In general terms the project has clear identifiable benefits for Hillfields community. It seeks to directly target some of the key priorities laid down in the Hillfields URBAN Action Plan. |
