| Description and Objectives |
| A Project to enhance business confidence and
security in the centre of Hillfields by improving the environment and
management of the area immediately adjoining the newly improved Hillfields
Shopping Centre (small business district).
The Project comprises: * Environmental improvements constructed to a high specification to meet the requirements of shoppers, traders and the local community. * The construction of walls and fences to help improve security. * A significant improvement in security and the reduction of crime through the introduction of a comprehensive CCTV system. The project will address the problem of the adjoining area having a major negative impact on business confidence in the Shopping Centre. The quality of the fencing in the scheme has been enhanced in anticipation of URBAN funding to meet the aspirations of local people: referred to in the document as ‘enhanced railings’. The Scheme contributes directly to Measure 2c. |
