Aims and Activities Covered by the Project
The purpose of the project is to enable 15 Hillfields residents to gain qualifications, awards and work-based training leading to employment.

This will be achieved through the following objectives:

  • Provide initial non-vocational training (e.g. communication skills, confidence building) customised to the needs of the sport and leisure industry;
  • Deliver a programme of sports and leisure related qualifications and awards (e.g. customer care, swimming teachers award, sports coaching qualifications)
  • Provide a structured introduction to the workplace through work based training and experience;
  • Provide pre-recruitment training customised to gaining employment in the sports and leisure industry;
  • Provide on-going training and support for all trainees once the ESF project has ended;
  • Provide an after care service to employers which have recruited the trainees.
