The Freehold Street Residents Group have set up a new organisations called Weavers Green Residents Group Ltd. in order to develop a "Doorstep Green" on vacant land on Freehold Street. In August 2002 they will be submitting an application to the Countryside Agency for a 3-year programme of creating and maintaining the green. They have recently been granted £30,000 from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund to support this project.
