Watch is a Community Organisation based in Hillfields, and is directed by a Management Committee of 15 local residents.  It is involved in a number of projects which include an Employment and Advice Centre, Community Team, Young Peoples project and a Learndirect Centre.

Supporting and Developing skills of young people 16-19 years old

The project seeks to encourage and prepare young people for further personal development in the world of work through empowerment, confidence measures and facilitating a learning environment in which participants can and will experience success.   All young people will have access to advice, guidance and supported open learning materials throughout their training period.

I’m Ready 2 Learn

Urban Ambition ‘I’m Ready 2 Learn’ is the campaign slogan for phase 2 of the successful CV1 Young People’s Outreach Project (CV1YPOP) that was organized by the previous Youth Development Worker,  Liz Cotton.

CV1YPOP’s aim with this learning campaign is to offer our urban youth an opportunity to access training, work experience and then progress to full or part time employment.

We will engage with young people that currently are not taking part in meaningful training, education or employment.  In working closely with us and other appropriate agencies young people will be able to avoid the barriers that prevent them from having access to mainstream activity.

The project realises the need for ongoing support to aid progression into positive outcomes i.e. Certificated Training or Employment.  In addition the project links closely with other statutory and volunteer agencies in the community to ensure ongoing support is available when needed.

CV1 Young People’s Outreach Project is committed to Training Excellence.  

We recognise that the development of our region’s workforce is crucial to the success of our urban youth within our region and our economy as a whole.  We are working closely with local Partners to understand in detail the skills required by local employers to formulate the most appropriate training for present and future employees.
