Phoenix Health Inequalities

The Phoenix Health Inequalities Project is a community outreach project, which seeks to empower local residents to take a more active part in developing Hillfields as a healthy and positive place in which to live and work. The project works with residents, existing community organisations and partnerships and particularly targets minority and excluded sections of the community.

The project works with existing community partnerships and seeks to increase the level of interaction and cohesion between different sectors of the Hillfields community through the development of joint project activities. It also supports the work of individual organisations, particularly those set up to meet the needs of minority groups and communities new to Hillfields.

The Hillfields HAG

The Hillfields Health Action Group brings together local residents, businesses and service providers, such as doctors, dentists, health visitors and pharmacists to discuss issues, generate ideas and carry out activities that can improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Hillfields.

The project is looking for local people to get involved and take an active part in developing Hillfields as a place to live a healthy and happy life in a thriving community.  It is a chance for you to get your concerns and your ideas known.

Being involved with the Health Action Group can give you:

  • access to lots of information about health

  • the confidence to ask more questions when talking to your doctor or other people involved in health

  • an opportunity for personal development and training

  • the opportunity to influence the kind of services  that are available to people in Hillfields
