Clifton Street Project

Hillfields Early Years Centre is a designated Early Excellence Centre and by March 2006 will become one of Coventry’s Children’s Centres.

One of the services of the centre is training parents and practitioners.  As part of our work supporting families we provide opportunities to develop their self esteem, knowledge and skills.

Our training team, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the DfES Early Excellence Programme, provides free courses and crèche facilities for parents/carers in the Hillfields community.  This term our courses include:

  • ESOL

  • STEPS

  • Sewing

  • Shared Beginnings

  • Art and Craft

  • IT for Beginners

All courses are accredited with the Open College Network.

NVQ Level 2 and 3

The centre also runs NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 for parents and practitioners.

We have recently celebrated

our parents achieving their OCN or NVQ Level 2/3 awards.

We would particularly like to congratulate

  • Carol Pidgeon and Sue Davies for achieving NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Care and Education.

  • Neil Wilkes, Julie Johnston and Janette Daley on achieving NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education.

2005

The staff at the Centre are looking forward to sharing the work of the Centre with practitioners in providing courses related to:
