Hold job fairs and employment open days at the WATCH Centre and other places.
Continue to develop the services available at the WATCH Centre.
Carry out a survey of unemployment in Hillfields and the take-up of Government schemes aimed at getting people into work.
Identify barriers to employment and develop ways of overcoming them.
Ensure that the whole community, especially asylum seekers and refugees, use the facilities available. This will include the development of new outreach services.
Continue to work with the Recruitment Network to provide a range of jobs to people in Hillfields.
Develop the WATCH Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Centre and develop ICT in the community.
Ensure the skills of asylum seekers and refugees are recognised. Develop courses aimed at asylum seekers and refugees to improve employment and training options.
Continue to work with disengaged people young people aged 16-19.
Provide small grants to support people experiencing long-term unemployment.
Develop support for community-led businesses and voluntary & community organisations.
Support the Hillfields Business Forum.
Support new and existing businesses.
Ensure that businesses have access to the WATCH ICT Centre and can benefit from Internet opportunities.
