… the plans are:
Make sure that local people and service providers work together to improve the environment so that Hillfields is as green, clean, safe and sustainable as possible so that people are proud to live here.
Create a new green space at the top of Freehold Street by the canal. The new park will be owned and managed by the community and used to host community events.
Bring local residents and service providers together to find practical ways to improve Primrose Hill Park to make it safer.
Make necessary repairs to Village Square and agree management arrangements including developing a programme of events for the Square.
Give out fines to people dropping litter so that Hillfields becomes cleaner.
Develop an environmental task group to find new ways of trying to tackle problems that have been around for a long time for example litter, fly-tipping and abandoned cars.
Make sure that residents have a chance to express their views regarding major developments in Hillfields.
Find out which areas of Hillfields most need traffic calming, dropped kerbs and improvements to the street scene (e.g. lighting, litter bins, roads, etc.) and look for ways to pay for them.
Put recycling bins in Hillfields that are decorated by local people. This will allow residents to recycle their rubbish.
Raise awareness of environmental issues through events, education initiatives and voluntary activity.
Create a new outdoor teaching area at Frederick Bird School.
Encourage local groups to use notice boards in Hillfields so that they can get their message to as many people as possible.
